    The Express Home Services Difference

In many cases, we will set our furnaces on a base. This allows the system to draw air into itself from the bottom of the furnace AND from the side. We always install a filter rack that holds the filter in place and makes filter changes extremely easy.

HVAC installation is an art and shouldn’t be attempted by just anybody. With dozens of design considerations and hundreds of connections, it’s important to go with a company with deep experience. An improperly installed HVAC system may start off working fine however over time problems will present themselves. Parts will continuously fail and some HVAC companies will gladly take your money every year while failing to inform you of your improperly designed ductwork which is at the heart of the problem.

When it comes to HVAC installation, the following saying definitely applies: The Bitterness of Poor Quality Remains Long After the Sweetness of Low Price is Forgotten.

    Our Air Conditioner Installation Process

Central AC Installation Services - Express Home ServicesThe first step to installing an air conditioner in a home is to evaluate the home itself. Considerations such as square footage, types of building materials used, insulation, number of windows, and sun exposure need to be pondered. The location of the outside condenser should be determined. The furnace should be thoroughly examined in order to confirm its compatibility with the new air conditioner. SEER preferences are left to the customer. The higher the SEER, the more efficient the unit. We recommend a minimum of 16 SEER air conditioner installations in the St George area because of our hot climate.

Ductwork needs to be thoroughly examined. It should be measured to ensure proper sizing. Inexperienced HVAC companies will often oversize the air condition system relative to the ductwork. This causes problems down the road. The air conditioning system will overwork when it delivers air through an undersized duct system which can make the system freeze up and/or fail prematurely.

If an existing air conditioner is being replaced determinations need to be made regarding the components of the existing system that can be reused. Generally, the electrical wire from the breaker box to the outside disconnect can stay. Refrigerant lines can be cleaned and reused, if they are in good shape, are of the proper size, are thoroughly cleaned, and have been leak checked.

In many cases, replacing the furnace at the same time is the practical choice. Discounts can be given since it’s all being done at the same time. A brand matching furnace and indoor coil not only look good, but it also functions as it should too.

When installing the outside unit, we first level the ground in the area where the air conditioner will set. Next, we lay down a 3-inch plastic and put the condenser on top of it. Refrigerant lines are cut, connected, and braised to the new unit. Electrical connections are made, and panels are reinstalled. The next step is to pressure test the refrigerant lines which we do with pressurized nitrogen. Assuming there are no leaks, we next vacuum pump all the air out of the refrigerant lines and then release the new refrigerant into the system. Once this is done the system is tested. Refrigerant and airflow are adjusted to achieve maximum performance for the new air conditioning system.

Thermostat calibration is one of the last steps. We offer several thermostat options including Wi-Fi thermostats and digital programmable thermostats. Our recommendation is for a Nest or Ecobee Wi-Fi thermostat. A rebate is offered from Thermwise.com when one of these thermostats is installed.

Once we leave, we still aren’t done. Our office personnel diligently registers all equipment in order to take advantage of the manufacturer’s warranties. On qualifying equipment, rebate forms are prepared and emailed. All the information about our installs is digitally recorded and is easily accessible.

An air conditioning system is an essential part of any home. When properly installed, a central air system will cool your house evenly and remove humidity from the air inside your home. Removing humidity from your home is crucial to retaining your home’s value, as too much humidity can lead to mold and mildew. Feel good knowing your home is not only comfortable to be in but also safe for inhaling that nice, cool air.

There are few conveniences that are better than a cool home on a hot summer day. We guarantee that a new furnace or central air system will heat or cool your home more comfortably and efficiently than your old one. With our lifetime unit replacement warranty, this will be the last air conditioner you will ever need to buy.

Express Home Services offers a variety of central air systems from basic 13 SEER to high efficiency 20 SEER models. SEER stands for the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and is a rating based on how much electricity the model uses compared to other models. The size of a central air system is rated in tons. Residential homes use central air systems rated from 2 to 5 tons. A properly sized air conditioner is very important and bigger is not always better. Express Home Services can provide you the information you need to make a decision on what system works best for you. We provide free in-person estimates so that we can find the perfect HVAC for your home.

Express Home Services installs custom central air systems, which are tailored to our customer’s needs. Below are just a few of our favorites:
    • 13 SEER Central air installation
This is a basic central air system and is at the minimum allowed SEER of 13. It’s a no-frills system that will use the most electricity of any of the other options. In many cases, it is still an upgrade especially if you are replacing the builders’ model air conditioner that came with your home. These units feature an attractive louvered metal coil guard that protects the coil from damage plus a powder-paint finish that provides premium durability and improved UV protection. While operating the sound level is 71 to 75 Decibels.
    • 14 SEER Central air installation
The 14 SEER system is slightly more efficient than the 13 SEER. In many cases, it will have better warranties. These compressors are equipped with a sensor that will proactively shut the system down should it detect conditions that could damage the compressor. By doing this costly repairs are often avoided. The 14 SEER is one of the quietest units we install. While operating the sound level is 70 to 71 decibels
    • 16 SEER Central air installation
This central air system is an excellent choice to achieve maximum utility savings. Amana air conditioners feature a durable scroll compressor. The 16 SEER unit is quiet and reliable as well. It’s cost-effective and it has some of the best warranties we offer including 10-year parts and labor and lifetime unit replacement if the compressor fails. 71 to 73 decibels
    • 2 stage 16 SEER Central air installation
This central air system is a popular choice for many homeowners that choose to have their air conditioner and furnace replaced at the same time. It uses two stages of cooling in conjunction with the furnace fan. The air conditioner kicks into the second stage only when needed. On mild days, this system usually operates on the first stage only. These units will provide maximum comfort for your home. While operating in the second stage the sound level 71 to 74 decibels
    • Modulating 20 SEER Central air installation
The 20 SEER modulating central air system is the quietest system around. When it is in its low stage you may not even hear it running if you are more than 15 feet away. As with the two-stage system, this one can only be properly installed if the furnace has a variable-speed blower motor. It has an ultra-quiet high-efficiency variable-speed outside fan motor as well. While running the sound level is 57 to 71 decibels.
All of our central air systems feature the following:
    • Energy-efficiency compressor
    • Factory-installed filter drier
    • Copper tube/aluminum fin coil
    • Heavy-gauge galvanized steel cabinet with sound control top design
    • Steel louver coil guard

    CoreSense Protection

All of the Amana central air systems we install come with the CoreSense Protection Module. This device monitors the system for damaging conditions. It will proactively shut down the system if conditions exist that can damage the compressor. The CoreSense will fault codes to the technician which will assist in diagnosing and remedying the problem. This technology will ensure that your compressor is running the way it should be which can save thousands of dollars on a compressor change out.

    Warranties

Many of our Amana central air systems come with 10-year parts and a 10-year labor warranty. That’s right – if your central air system breaks down within 10 years it will be fixed for free. Some of our Amana central air systems have a lifetime heat compressor guarantee. In the unlikely event, your compressor fails, Amana will provide a new central air unit free of charge for as long as you own the home. This is the last central air you will ever need to buy! At Express Home Services, we have the experience and training to properly install the best HVAC systems in town. With warranties like ours, we have to! That’s why our motto is this: “You only get one chance to do it right the first time!”

    Craftmanship

Quality equipment is an important factor to consider when making an important financial decision like buying a new air conditioner, however, if it is not installed correctly the benefits become obsolete. If your air conditioner is poorly installed, the central air system will not cool properly, break down, and have a shorter-than-normal lifespan. An HVAC installation consists of hundreds of connections and many considerations which should only be attempted by qualified installers with many years of experience. You don’t expect just anyone to install your air conditioner and neither do we. That’s why our technicians are highly trained and knowledgeable in the HVAC industry. You can feel confident that you are being serviced by highly skilled and competent people.

Have you ever had someone come in to fix something in your home only to leave muddy footprints, dirty wall stains, or trash around your home? You shouldn’t have someone come to fix a problem only to leave another one behind. You won’t have that issue with Express Home Services. When we work in your home, you can expect us to use drop cloths to protect your carpet and we always leave our workspace cleaner than when we found it.
